Watch out for signs of mold. If the thing is any inexperienced mold, white fuzzy mold, or dark black spots (mildew) about the mushroom, never eat it. Don’t worry if the thing is blue staining—That is common in Psilocybe mushrooms and an indicator that the mushrooms comprise psilocybin. As wonderful as dried mushrooms are, they aren’t ideal.
